Day 1 Depart the UK. Day 2 Arrive in Nairobi. On arrival you will be met by our representative and commence your safari with a pleasant drive north to to Lake Naivasha. This is probably Kenya’s most beautiful fresh water lake. Your will arrive at your lodge in time for lunch. Your lodge, Loldia House. is built on the edge of Lake Naivasha, in beautiful grounds with green shaded lawns and bright flower beds. In the afternoon, explore the farm's 8,000 acres by foot and wonder amongst herds of wild antelope and zebra. Alternatively, go for a boat ride on the lake, where you can see hippos and hundreds of species of birds. Day 3 After breakfast, drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. Lake Nakuru is one of many beautiful Rift Valley Lakes, and home to thousands of flamingos and other bird and animal life. It is an excellent place for spotting Rhino, one of the countries rarest animals. You will view game in the morning. Thereafter return to your lodge by Lake Naivasha for a late lunch. Day 4 After breakfast you will be driven across the floor of the Great Rift Valley to Masai Mara. You will spend two nights in this natural paradise among zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, buffalo, elephant, antelope and gazelle. You will encounter prides of lion resting in the shade of acacia trees or lying low in the tall grass, in wait for their next prey. There is a good chance of spotting cheetah and if you are lucky, the shy leopard. Have lunch, dinner and stay overnight at Governors’ Camp. Day 5 Spend a full day in the Masai Mara. The camp lies on the banks of Mara River with a great view of the Mara reserve, letting you observe wildlife as you relax in camp. Morning and evening game-drives. Day 6 After breakfast fly from Masai Mara to Mfangano Island Camp. The flight takes approx. 45 min. Upon arrival you will be met at the airstrip and transferred by boat to the camp. The transfer takes approx. 20 min. Lapped by the waters of Lake Victoria, Mfangano Island Camp is an oasis of tranquillity. It is set in beautiful gardens in a secluded bay, where fish eagles nest and cormorants sun themselves on the giant boulders. Check in at the camp and enjoy a delicious lunch of freshly caught fish, served on the lake side deck. In the afternoon you have several activities to choose from, including fishing for Nile Perch, swimming in the lake or pool, visits to the local villages & school, otter-watching by boat, walks along the lake shore or bird watching. Day 7 Spend the whole day at Mfangano. During the day, compare your fishing skills to those of the peerless fish eagles or choose from one of the many activities available. At the end of the day, watch the burning African sun sink from the sky, eat dinner under the stars and be gently lulled to sleep by the waves lapping on the shore. Day 8 After breakfast, leave the island and return to Nairobi for your connecting flight to Mombasa. On arrival here, you will be met by our representative who will transfer you to Hemmingways. Day 13 You will be met by our representative and transferred to the airport in time for your onward flight to London. Day 14 Arrive UK. |
