Ruaha River Camp

Address:   Ruaha, Tanzania

The Great Ruaha River is the lifeline of the National Park and gives it its name. The best place to stay in the park is the aptly named Ruaha River Lodge which offers you your own riverside 'banda' designed to blend seamlessly into the natural surroundings. The local stone and thatched room has minimal impact on the environment and game viewing from your veranda is a relaxing and enthralling activity.

The 20 rooms are either twin beds or a double bed. Additional beds can be added for families or larger groups. The ensuite bathroom has a shower, toilet and wash basin with solar-heated hot water.

If you can only see one park in all of Africa, it should be Ruaha National Park in Tanzania. The combination of stunning scenery, rugged landscapes, and animal variety is unmatched. You will rarely meet any other vehicles on your game drives around Ruaha's extensive and well-maintained road network. Our highly trained English speaking guides will lead you on game drives where you will see an abundance of leopard, lion, cheetah and the rare hunting dog, not to mention several rare species including Greater and Lesser Kudu, Roan and Sable antelopes.
