Mara Serena Lodge

Address:   Masai Mara, Kenya

An interpretation of a traditional Masai Manyatta village of domed huts, Mara Serena Lodge is set on the saddle of a hill where it overlooks the 1,125 square miles of rolling plains, woodlands and rivers that make up the Masai Mara Triangle, one of the world’s richest wildlife sanctuaries. No other lodge has such a spectacular view of the surrounding landscape and of the game and bird life that inhabit it. It is on this very terrain stretching endlessly before the lodge where the annual migration take place, when millions of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle traverse the landscape to feed on the rich new grass and give birth to their young.

The guest rooms of the Mara Serena Lodge are styled and arranged to blend into the natural landscape. Every room is an individual "hut" - spread out to give each one uninterrupted views of the plains, the Mara River and the silhouetted hills beyond. The main dining room is spectacularly designed as three large domes and three small ones, resembling enlarged Masai manyattas. Sumptuous international menus, buffets and barbecues are served to guests alongside authentic African dishes.

The Mara Serena Lodge is located at the centre of the Masai Mara National Reserve, which is considered to be one of the largest wild life parks in Africa. Getting there by road from Nairobi takes approximately five hours or you can fly to the airstrip which is about 2 kms away from the lodge.

The Mara Serena resort itself is famous for location and spectacular views of the Mara River from every room along with the natural display of wilderness which you can combine with many other activities which are available to you. The resort has been able to combine the international standards of a luxury hotel accommodation with the African culture blended in an unforgettable and luxurious experience.

Of the many enchanting activities you can enjoy, you can either have dinner in the bush or breakfast by the hippo pools, have sundown cocktails and admire the most stunning sunsets, visit some of the Masai communities and shop at their local outlets or join one of the guided tours which will take you around the park and its wilderness and natural beauty.
