Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge

Address:   Lake Naivasha, Kenya

Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge liews on the southern shores of Lake Naivasha, the largest fresh-water lake in the Great Rift valley in Kenya. It lies in extensive grounds that run down to the lake shore.

In total the Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge has 21 traditional style cottages, each containing four rooms. All rooms look out over the grounds which are grazed by gazelles, waterbuck, giraffes and at night by the Hippos who come up from the lake. All rooms are en suite.

The Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort is located in Kenya upon the shores of Lake Naivasha. The area in which the Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort is located has a rich and unique history. The area actually served as the main route for slave trade during the 1800s. The area is also the place where Joseph Thompson made his journey through the Masai land and recorded his journals.

The accommodations at the Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort are of the highest quality. There are 21 cottages at the Resort. Each cottage contains 4 rooms. The pathways leading to the rooms are incredibly beautiful. The pathways contain lush flowers of the most vibrant colors. The tropical plants surrounding the pathways truly accentuate the exotic spirit of the African plains. The wild flowers are a nice contrast to the simple green lawns surrounding the premises.

Children and families love watching the monkeys that make the tropical flowers their home. Monkeys surround the premises and can be found everywhere. There is no shortage of places to sit down and relax with a book as well. The acacia trees provide a plentiful amount of shade to keep guests cool.

Every room at the Resort has its own shower. Depending on the type of room one wants, one can have a king-sized bed or two queen-sized beds placed in the room. The mahogany furniture in each room gives each room an elegant flair. Each room also contains aesthetically pleasing paintings that have been created by local cultures in the African area. There is also a mini bar located within each room. The mini bar can give guests a chance to cool off and enjoy one another's company over a refreshing cocktail or glass of wine.

Many parents choose the Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort because it can cater to children. There is a swimming pool on site that is dedicated specifically to children. In addition, the opportunity to get baby-sitting services on request makes life easy for parents that wish to enjoy a night alone in Africa.

There are two bars located in the main areas of the Resort. One bar is located within the lobby, while the other bar is located at the pool side. The pool snack bar also offers a light food menu with healthy eating options. The main restaurant is also located within the lobby. At the main restaurant, guests can enjoy all sorts of gourmet cuisine. The meat platters at the main restaurant are absolutely delectable. The restaurant also offers a dessert tray filled with the most exquisite chocolate desserts and cakes.
