Opened in June 2011, Lake Elementeita Serena Camp offers a new luxury option to those visiting the lakes of the Great Rift Valley. Situated on a small private reserve, the camp is built overlooking Lake Elementeita, one of the smaller soda lakes. It is on this lake that the famous flamingoes hatch and raise their chicks, making the lake a large, colourful spectacle.

Each of the rooms, built individually in the style of luxury safari tents, are exquisitely furnished, with large beds, large private bathrooms and private terraces looking down through the lodge gardens to the lake shore. The public areas are open and airy, serving excellent food and wines while letting you savour the beautiful and atmospheric location. There is a pool to relax in or around and easy acccess to both Lakes Naivasha and Nakuru.

The camp is located on the shores of Lake Elementeita where you can observe at close hand thousands of different bird species that come to feed and bathe in the lake. Its clear waters speak of unspoiled natural beauty with which the camp bonds perfectly. The camp is made up of twenty four luxurious tents with amazing views of the lake and its fauna. Each one has its own veranda facing the lake so you can enjoy the view in the comfort and protection of your tent. All the services you expect in a luxury hotel are available in each tent for your comfort.

The main suite, the flamingo suite does not only have a great view of the lake but it is equipped with a Jacuzzi and a great lounge where you can get together with your friends and enjoy the breeze and cool air. Massage and room service is available in the suite and all the tents, just in case you want to relax and sit in your veranda reading a book or just enjoying some time out. On the other hand if you are the active type, Lake Elementeita Camp is also for you, as you can fly over the lake on a hot air balloon or go out looking for leopards and hyenas in the bush.

Lake Elementeita Camp has a central lounge and restaurant where you can sample fine international cuisine and you also have the option to try local dishes made with local dishe. Rest assured that the species cooked are not endangered and are eaten by the locals normally!

It is possible that when you sit in your tent and enjoy the comforts of modern life and technology you might forget that you are in the heart of Africa on a wildlife reserve. The service is great, the food superb and yet you are able to go into the bush with a certified guide to look at different animal species in the wild, in their natural environment before returning at noon for a great meal and a cool glass of Chardonnay.

Since the lake is part of a natural bird reserve you cannot swim in it, which is why Lake Elementeita Camp has a beautiful crystalline swimming pool for you to relax and refresh yourself in. The pool has a bar and access to the restaurant which allows you to have cocktails in the afternoon while you catches the last rays of sunlight over the lake.
