Kwara camp is built on a forested island which looks out over a huge floodplain that runs off a large lagoon. Behind it are many varying plains and areas of bush which are ideal for game. Looking out west over the lagoon Kwara Camp enjoys spectacular views of the setting sun at dusk.
Kwando Kwara is small and exclusive as it accommodates only 16 guests. The luxury safari tents are built on raised decks, within a grove of huge and ancient African Ebony trees. They are elegantly furnished with Rhodesian teak furniture and each tent has its own viewing deck and private en-suite facilities.
After a long day, you can relax by the small pool or enjoy a tea or drink in the small bar, where a campfire is lit everynight at dusk. The food is excellent, eaten looking out over the bush and listening to the amazing sounds of the African night.
Kwando Kwara Camp has eight tents that are built on raised decks. Each tent contains two beds. The tents are located within a grove of African Ebony trees. Each tent contains a hot and cold running shower, and a flush toilet. The front of each tent has a private viewing deck, where visitors will see many animals, especially hippopotamus that love the water area, right in front of the tents. Warthogs also regularly visit the camp. Visitors to this camp get very close to many of the animals.
Kwando Kwara Camp is located on the Okavango Delta, which is home to over 30,000 African buffalo and elephants. The delta has over 200,000 animals, including giraffes, Nile crocodiles, black rhinoceros, white rhinoceros, spotted hyena, sable antelope, cheetah, leopards, amongst the many animals. The delta has one of the richest wildlife densities in Africa.
One outstanding activity offered by the camp are the boat rides. During the day, guests can ride in canoes or mokoros on the water while viewing the wildlife. The water is populated with tigerfish, tilapia and catfish. During the evening guests can enjoy riding on a boat and viewing the wildlife. Guests can enjoy seeing the many species of birds that live near the water, including heron and storks. The lucky visitor may even see one of the world’s most elusive birds, the Pel’s Fishing Owl.
This camp is the nearest facility to the Moremi Game Reserve, and guests can arrange a visit to the reserve. This reserve is one of the most natural and untouched in Africa.
The guides at this camp are some of the best educated in the region. They love teaching their guests about the animals they are seeing and they are very skilled at finding the animals.
The food at this camp is prepared by a highly skilled chef. Most food is prepared from local ingredients.
