Kilaguni claims to be the first safari lodge actually built within a National Park. It is certainly superbly situated, with Kilimanjaro in the distance, volcanic hills all around and a large waterhole adjacent to its grounds. It is one of the most atmospheric of the larger lodges in Kenya.

It has been designed so that all guest bedrooms, as well as the dining area and bar all offer lovely views out over Kilimanjaro. The game-viewing areas are also superb, with lions and elephants roaming the grasslands all around.

The lodge has been built to blend with its surroundings; a small rocky outcrop and a valley known as "the place of the young rhino" or Kilaguni. The lodge is faced with the local volcanic stone and thatched in the local style.

Open air dining, a bar carved out of the rock and wild-life viewing terraces all allow guests to relax whilst still enjoying the local wildlife. The local African style is taken into the bedrooms which are all furnished in African Earth colours and textiles.

The lodge in Kilaguni offers modern, clean, well decorated rooms. Each room includes a ceiling fan, telephone and wifi, room service and beautiful views of either the Chylulu Volcanic Range or the watering hole.

The restaurant has one of the best views in Tsavo, overlooking the watering hole itself. Breakfast and lunch are served in a European style buffet, with food choices including meat, poultry and fish. Dinner is served at the table including salad, soup, entree and cheese and biscuits. Breakfast, lunch and dinner all have a vegetarian option.

Kilaguni has a lovely swimming pool to relax around or in during the day, as well as beautiful large gardens. The lodge also offers additional activities such as guided nature walks or a private breakfast at Lion Rock.
