Kicheche Laikipia Camp

Laikipia Camp is an intimate tented camp situated in the heart of the Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Offering only 6 luxury tents it is small, private and peaceful, offering a truly authentic safari holiday. Each of these tents is fully insect-proof and has well-furnished en-suite bathrooms. The bathrooms have flushing toilets, a dresser and hot showers as well. Each camp has comfortable chairs on the porch, from where you can get the gorgeous views of the waterhole. On request, one tent can also be converted into a triple. For the convenience of the guests, there is a beautifully-furnished and spacious lounge and a dining tent.

Each tent has a private verandah overlooking the forest and nearby waterhole.

The conservancy covers over 90,000 acres of untouched wilderness and is most famous for its population of the rare Black Rhino. It is however also home to elephant, cheetah, lion and leopard. Being close to Mount Kenya means it has fantastic views of this famous landmark.

Unusally night-time game drives are also on offer at the camp. There are also bush walks with qualified guides and you can have a go at tracking lions. It is also possible to visit the Chimpanzee Sanctuary for orphaned chimps.

Renowned as the home to the Kenyan black rhinos, a rare species, Laikipia district is a great place to check out some amazing African animals. This district also houses the second largest herds of elephants in Kenya. And also, this is the sole area in Kenya, where tourists can view the Jackson's Hartebeest. With area is very picturesque with the gorgeous peaks of Mount Kenya, beautiful Great Rift Valley with dusty plains and the verdant forests and grasslands - the district of Laikipia is a must-see destination for everyone.

Located just half an hour drive from the Nanyuki airstrip, Kicheche Laikipia Camp is easily accessible from all prime locations in Kenya. You will find daily flights from Nairobi on airlines such as Safarilink and Air Kenya. Apart from that, there are plenty of scheduled flights from other cities as well. For those looking for to reach Kicheche Laikipia Camp by road, they can choose to drive from Nairobi and it will take approximately 4 hours to reach the Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kicheche Laikipia.
