This Classic South Luangwa Safari includes all the best that the South Luangwa has to offer. There is plenty of time to explore the amazing variety of habitat and species, based in some of the most atmospheric and luxurious camps in Zambia. You also get a rare chance to do some game viewing on foot - often not possible elsewhere in Africa.

This is a private tour (minimum 2). It can depart on any day you wish (subject to availability).

Please let us know you preferred dates and we will forward a full tailored itinerary with confirmed quotation to you by e-mail and/or post.

Day 1
Depart the UK.

Days 2-3
On arrival you are met by your guide and taken to the lodge. The rest of the day and the next are spent game-viewing.

Days 4-5
You drive deep into the National Park to Luwi Bushcamp. Your safari guide will introduce you to the armed escort scout who will accompany you on your first real walking safari. The guide will take time to point out the tracks and signs that he uses to interpret the bush. This is no nature trail - this is the real thing - you are tracking big game through the African bush, on foot like the first Luangwa pioneers.

Days 6-7
Today you walk down the Luwi river course to Nsolo, the second of your bushcamps. After a few hours gentle walking you will arrive into camp. Two days of game activities.

Days 8-9
The next move takes you further down the Luwi River, again on foot or by 4x4. You have two nights at Kakuli Camp. Much of the gameviewing is still on foot although there are more game viewing tracks in this area so it is possible to use vehicles and with a dense population of leopards in the area the night drives are usually most rewarding.

Days 10-11
A taste of luxury awaits you at Mchenja to relax at and enjoy your last wildlife adventures.

Day 12
Transfer to Mfuwe Airport for the start of your journey home, or on to Victoria Falls.

Day 13
Arrive UK.
