Day 1 :
On arrival in Lima, you are met at the airport and transfer to your hotel.Rest of the day is at leisure to relax.

Day 2 :
Morning flight to Arequipa where you are met and transferred to your hotel. You will then enjoy a tour of the White City, constructed out of the white sillar rock from the Volcano Misti. Places of interest include Santa Catalina Convent and its world-renowned cloister, almost untouched for over 400 years. Full of spacious gardens and terraces, it was the preserve of the aristocracy, the dowry for having a novice nun accepted being proof of Spanish ancestry and lots of gold!

Day 3 :
Morning departure to the Colca Valley, a spectacular journey. You climb up towards the high plateau, and the desolate plain of Pampa Cañahuas in the Aguada Blanca National Reserve. On the valley sides you can still see the intricate pre-Columbian terraces, still used today by the local villagers and farmers for their crops. You spend the night in the Colca Canyon.

Day 04 :
A full day to explore the Canyon and its villages. It is a very traditional area, largely unchanged by the modern world, so its pleasant to walk around and enjoy its markets and friendly inhabitants. It is famous for its lovely textiles, colourful and ornate which are associated with this area. Condors Cross is a viewpoint that offers the best views down into the most remote and deepest parts of the canyon. Its also a good place, as the name suggests to catch a glimpse of the elusive but majestic condor.

Day 5 :
Today you return to Arequipa´s airport in time for your flight to Puno. On arrival here you are met and transferred to your hotel. You are then free to relax or explore, taking it easy because of the altitude - over 12,600 feet..

Day 6 :
Today you take a boat ride on Lake Titicaca to visit the extraordinary floating islands. For centuries the Uros tribe have lived on these pontoons built of totora reed, occasionally adding a fresh layer to the top as the bottom disintergrates. You continue onto the island of Taquile where quechua-speaking Indians live, to witness their unique society and way of life.

Day 7 :
Today you drive to Cusco, travelling by luxury coach with air conditioning . This allows stunning views out at the passing Andean scenery, with towering peaks, small traditional villages and herds of llama and alpaca dotting the wayside. You stop en route at La Raya, known for its excellent views of the mountains and countryside from an altitide of 13,000 ft. You also have time to visit the pre-Columbian pyramids at Pucara and the Temple of Raqchi, a pilgrimage site during Inca times. On arrival in Cusco you settle in at your hotel and relax.

Day 8 :
A day tour of Cusco and the surrounding area. Cusco, as capital to the Incas was home to many great buildings and temples, many last as the buildings of the colonnial period were built over them. The tour includes the Plaza Regocijo, the Cathedral and the Santo Domingo Convent. After lunch you drive out to Sacsayhuaman, an ancient religious centre, as well as Kenko and the fortress of Puca Pucara. This is the Inca architecture you've seen many times before - huge stones fitting seamlessly together - it will still impress as the size of the building become clear.

Day 9 :
A visit to the sacred valley, visiting picturesque villages and taking in the mountain scenery with ancient terraces climbing the valley sides.. You will visit Ollantaytambo, the stronghold that protected the valley from incursions from the lowlands. After lunch you visit Pisac, a colorful local market and then continue to your hotel situated in the valley itself.

Day 10 :
Up early for the one and a half hour train journey to Machu Picchu. Machu Pichu is perhaps one of the most iconic places in the world, a lost city only redicovered in the early 1900's. There is time to wander around its streets and buildings, taking in the majestic setting in the heart of the mountains and jungle. A guided tour takes you to the Main Square, Temple of the Three Windows, the Royal Quarters, Circular Towers and the Sacred Sundial. Overnight near the ruins.

Day 11 :
A free morning to explore Machu Pichu further. An early start, weather permitting, to watch the sunrise is recommended, enjoying the ruins before the crowds arrive. In the afternoon you return to Cusco for the night.

Day 12 :
Morning transfer to Cusco for your onward flight or travel down to the Amazon. Contact us for full details. assistance on departure flight
