Vietnam is a fascinating holiday destination, combining outstanding natural beauty and along history with cultural diversity and colour. The unique landscape of Halong Bay, where tall limestone pillars rise from the sea covered in lush tropical vegetation. The waterways and floating markets of the Mekong Delta. The rice terraces that cling to the slopes af hills and mountains. Throw in beautiful towns such as Hoi An, the modern cities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh and the sites left from the Vietnam War and you have a truly fascination holiday.
On this itinerary we have included a visit to Cambodia to visit the world-famous temple of Angkor Wat, many of its shrines still overgrown by the jungle that hit the site for so long.

Day 1
Depart the UK.
Day 2
Arrive in Hanoi, met and transferred to your hotel. For he rest of the day you can rest after the journey and relax. Based in a central hotel there is also the option to go out for a walk and start to explore Hanoi. In the evening there is the chance to visit a water puppet theatre and watch a traditional show.
Day 3
A city tour of Hanoi. You will be met by your guide at the hotel and head off, visiting the Ho Chi Minh Complex that contain the Mausoleum, his former home and the One Pillar Pagoda, followed by visits to the Temple of Literature, Hoan Kiem Lake and the fascinating Old Quarter. In the afternoon you drive to Bac Ninh, travelling on a horse-drawn cart when you arrive through country lanes to visit the Dinh Bang communal house and the Do temple. return to your hotel in Hanoi for the night.
Day 4
Morning drive down to the coast at Ha Long Bay. Here you board a traditional sailing junk, refitted to a high standard as an overnight cruise boat. On this you will cruise along the hundreds of islets of Ha Long Bay. In the afternoon you visit a grotto before dropping anchor for the night in a quiet and peaceful spot.
Day 5
This morning you continue to explore Ha Long Bay, relaxing on deck as you watch huge limestone cliffs drift past. In the afternoon you transfer to the airport for your flight to Ho Chi Minh where you are met and transferred to your hotel.
Day 6
Morning visit to the Cu Chi tunnels where during the Vietnam War the Viet Cong built a systen of tunnels to hide during raids and launch surprise attacks. Not for those who suffer from clastraphobia! In the afternoon you return to Ho Chi Minh and head off with your guide to see the highlights of the city, including the Reunification Palace, Binh Tay Market and Thien Hau Temple. Overnight in your Ho Chi Minh hotel.
Day 7
A day to explore the Mekong Delta Met by your guide and car you drive to Cai Be and then go by boat to the floating market. You visit a traditional houseboat and then cruise to Cho Lach, passing laden river barges. Enjoy lunch while aboard. There is time to stop and visit some local villages on foot before mooring up for a night aboard the boat.
Day 8
Up early for a visit to Tra On market and then continue bysaipan for a visit to the bustling floating market at Cai Rang. Later there is time to cruise the small canals and see some of the orchards and farms in the region. Return to your hotel in Ho Chi Minh for the night.
Day 9
Morning transfer to catch your flight to Siem Reap. You are met on arrrival and taken to your hotel before heading out in the afternoon to visit some of the Khymerr temples from the earlier period of construction. This includes visits to the Roluos group of temples dating from the 9th and 10 century, including Preah Ko, Bakong, and Lolei temples.
Day 10
A full day to explore and enjoy one of the Worlds great wonders. Entering by the South gate, your guide will take you to all the main places of note before you have time to explore some of the more out of the way places. The ruins at Bayon, Baphoun, Phimeanakas, the Royal Palace, the Elephant Terraces and the Leper King Terrace can all be seen. The day ends at the mountain temple of Phnom Bakheng, looking out over the ruins as the sun sets.
Day 11
A second day to explore Angkor Wat, visitng some of the later temples from the 11th century such as the Temple of Shiva. Plenty of time to explore with your guide or by yourselves.
Day 12
The morning is free to relax or buy souvenirs (or maybe another temple or two..) Afternoon transfer to get you onward flight.
Day 13
Arrive UK.
