An adventure camping tour of Tanzanias Northern parks, followed by a week on the exotic island of Zanzibar.
 
 

This safari is for the real adventurer, although we do take some of the hardships out of camping by providing you with your own personal cook and driver-guide throughout! The safari is designed to take you to all the main game parks of the northern circuit but experiencing the true sense of adventure in your camp site located away from the crowds, giving you your own private part of the parks.

You will experience the African nights around your campfire and retire to bed with the sounds of the bush. You stay in 2 person tents, travelling in 4x4 vehicles. It is more hands on than our other tours but a great way to see the country.

At the end of this you transfer to the Island of Zanzibar to enjoy the beautiful beaches and warm waters of this fabled Island.

This is a private tour (minimum 2 people). It can depart on any day you wish (subject to availability).

Day 1
Depart the UK.

Day 2
Arrive into Arusha. Met and transferred to a guest house in Arusha.

Day 3
Depart for Lake Manyara, traversing the Great African Rift Valley that scars Africa from the Red Sea to Mozambique. Afternoon game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. Lake Manyara National Park was immortalised in Hemingways Green Hills Of Africa and represents a habitat distinct from elsewhere in our safari. Our afternoon game drive allows us to explore the ground-water forest, rich in birds and monkeys, visit the hippo pool, and the acacia woodlands that border the soda lake swathed in the pink of the resident flamingos. Meals and Overnight at Lake Manyara Adventure Camp.

Day 4
After an early breakfast we carve our way through the forested slopes of the Ngorongoro Highlands, en route to the Serengeti. From here the predator-rich plains of the Serengeti unfurl before us as we game drive through the park to arrive at Camp, just before dusk. Dinner and overnight Serengeti Adventure Camp.

Day 5
A full day to explore the Serengeti, the most famous National Park in Africa. Our driver-guide will choose our route based on his extensive knowledge of the park and local conditions but the Serengeti rarely disappoints. Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Adventure Camp.

Day 6
After breakfast depart for Ngorongoro Crater, with a final Serengeti game drive en-route. We stop at Olduvai Gorge to visit the site where many early man skulls and bones have been found. We descend down the 2000-ft walls of the Crater, a World Heritage Site and home to nearly 25,000 animals, for a game drive. Here you have a very real chance of spotting the big five: lion, elephant, endangered black rhino, buffalo and leopard plus countless other African mammal species. Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Adventure Camp, perched on the Crater Rim.

Day 7
We return to Arusha for lunch. Transfer to the airport for your onward flight to Zanzibar. Transfer to your hotel, the Pongwe Beach.

At leisure.

Day 9
At leisure.

Day 10
At leisure.

Day 11
At leisure.

Day 12
At leisure.

Day 13
Transfer to the airport in time for your flight home.

Day 14
Arrive UK.

This holiday is available throughout the year.

The price per person varies between £2,495 (April - May) and £2,950 (19th July - 18th August).

This is based on the best priced flights and the accommodation listed. Should these not be available, the price will increase.
