A stylish self-drive itinerary for those who want to see all the main attractions while staying in some of the countries finest properties.
South Africa is one of the most fascinating countries in the world, so why not treat yourself to a visit staying in some of the most stylish properties it has to offer? Our "South Africa in style" itinerary is designed to take you to all the major attractions, from the excitment of safari with an expert guide to the cosmopolitan waterfront in fashionable Cape Town. You travel at your own pace, stopping when you want for as long as you want, but always with the anticipation of the next nights accommodation ahead of you, your lodges and hotels as much of the happy holiday memories as the sights you see. Flights are used to cover the larger journeys, giving you more time in the places of interest.
Touring South Africa is a delight, with a first class network of rail, road and air services. The road system is excellent and with driving on the left and a lack of traffic, driving is easy and stress free.
International cuisine, fine wines and a range of first class hotels and game lodges make South Africa a great destination.

Day 1
Depart from the UK in the evening.
Day 2
On arrival at Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport you will be transferred to your Game lodge. There is time for an evening game-drive before returning to the lodge for supper.
Day 3
On safari. Morning and evening game drives in open topped Landrovers with expert guides.
Day 4
On safari.
Day 5
Transfer from the Safari Lodge to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport. Fly to Durban. Here you will met any transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to explore Durban.
Day 6
A car will be delivered to your hotel in the morning and you drive to up into the Drakensberg Mountains. Here you have 2 days to explore the beautiful landscapes on offer as well as daily guided walks, bird watching, tennis, squash, swimming, horse riding, bowls, trout fishing, badminton, gym and sauna, nearby game viewing and a challenging 9-hole golf course.
Day 7
Free day in the Drakensberg. Drakensburg Mountains are a proclaimed World Heritage Site.
The mountains have a unique natural beauty, with a rich collection of rock art, the last visible signs of the San people.
This region is renowned for its unique richness of biological diversity, its endemic and endangered species amd its superlative natural beauty.
Within the uKhahlamba Drakensburg Park there are some 600 rock art sites,
collectively representing over 35, 000 individual images. With an abundance of game, birds and plants, as well as some of the word’s most stunning scenery and rock art, the uKhahlamba Drakensburg Park is one of South Africa’s premier tourist attractions.
Day 8
Drop car off at Durban Airport. Fly from Durban to Port Elizabeth. You collect a new car and drive the short distance to your accommodation near Port Elizabeth.
Day 9
Self drive to the town of Knysna in the heart of the Garden Route. You will stay here for 3 nights, giving ample time to relax and explore the lagoon, reserve and coastline that makes the area so popular.
Day 10
Second night in Knysna.
Day 11
Third night in Knysna.
Day 12
Self-drive along the magnificent Garden Route and head for your overnight
stop at the foot of the Langeberg Mountains (approx 200 kms). Swellendam is a lovely town which makes a perfect stopover en-route to the Cape Peninsula.
Day 13
After leaving Swellendam your journey takes you on a lovely route over mountain passes into the heart of the winelands. The historic Stellensbosch, the second oldest town in South Africa, dating back to 1679 is a name synonymous with South African wine because the entire area is filled with vineyards and beautiful wine estates. There are numerous wine estates to visit in the Winelands, so take a tour of the cellars and taste the wine. You stay at a lovely country house just outside Cape Town, with good access to the City, The Cape and the Winelands.
Day 14
Second day near Cape Town.
Day 15
Third day near Cape Town.
Day 16
Drop car off at Cape Town Airport in time for your onward flight.
Day 17
Arrive UK in the early morning.
