Trekking to see the Mountain gorillas of Bwindi Inpenetrable Forest in Uganda is a wonderful experience. Its hard work, the trails are steep and overgrown, tracking the gorillas included pushing through virgin jungle. Its hot, it is after all a tropical jungle. Its wet, make that a tropical rain forest. But to watch these creatures going about their lives for an hour makes it all worth while. Mostly they feed and groom, often watching you watch them.
Access is strickly limited with only a few visitors per day being taken to each family group. Its not cheap either, with a permit costing US$750 per day. With only 600 known Mountain Gorillas known of in the wild, and with over half of the population in Bwindi, it is an excellent place to visit them and well worth the money and effort.
