A leisurely safari of the Masai Mara, staying at two different lodges to allow you to enjoy two different areas of the reserve. You also visit the upland areas of Mount Kenya, and have a night in one of the famous tree-houses. There is even time to enjoy 2 nights on the shores of Lake Naivasha, with a day trip to game-view in Lake Nakuru National Park famous for its flamingos and leopards.

All lodges provide en-suite facilities and many have small swimming pools. You travel in your own private minibus with a large roof hatch to ensure perfect game viewing and photographic opportunities. Your driver guide will accompany you throughout.

This is a private tour (minimum 2). It can depart on any day you wish (subject to availability).

Please let us know your preferred dates and we will forward a full tailored itinerary with confirmed quotation to you by e-mail and/or post.

Day 1
Depart the UK.

Day 2
Arrive in Nairobi. You will be met and commence your safari by driving north to the Sweetwaters Lodge. The rest of the day is at leisure before heading out for an evening game drive.

Day 3
After breakfast drive to Mountain Lodge in Mt.Kenya National Park. This Tree Hotel is situated in the forest at the foot of Mount Kenya itself at an altitude of over 1,900 metres. Throughout the day and night forest animals visit the waterhole and saltlick, ensuring plenty to see from the comfort of the lodge.

Day 4
After breakfast, drive to Lake Naivasha in the Great Rift Valley, and your lodge, the Lake Naivasha Simba Lodge. The afternoon is at leisure to enjoy the lodge grounds that run down to the lake shore. Optional activities include a boat ride on Lake Naivasha, the only freshwater lake and one of the most beautiful in the Great Rift Valley. Otherwise you can walk in the lawns, looking at the game that grazes the grass.

Day 5
Full day game-viewing trip to Lake Nakuru. This large alkaline lake on the bed of the Great Rift Valley, has earned its fame as the home of one of the greatest bird spectacles in the world- a myriad of more than one million pink flamingos. They visit seasonally to feed on the abundant algae which thrive in its warm waters. Lake Nakuru has a great deal to offer besides its magnificent birdlife however; it is an excellent spot for seeing rhino and, if you are lucky, the elusive leopard. Return to your lodge at Lake Naivasha for the night.

Day 6
Morning departure heading across the floor of the Great Rift Valley to the Masai Mara. You will spend three days in this natural paradise among zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, buffalo, elephant, antelope and gazelle. You will encounter prides of lion resting in the shade of acacia trees or lying low in the tall grass, in wait for their next prey. There is also good chance of spotting cheetah. Lunch, dinner and overnight at the Mara Simba Lodge or the Karen Blixen Camp.

Day 7
Game viewing before and after breakfast and again in the afternoon, with lunch and a siesta at the lodge. In the evening, it is time for a well deserved shower before dinner followed by a drink under the canopy of the African stars.

Day 8
After breakfast you continue to Mara Serena Lodge, game viewing en route. The lodge, situated on a hilltop, offers breathtaking views of the Mara plains and you can easily observe the herds of wildlife below you. Afternoon game drive.

Day 9
Morning and afternoon game viewing on your last day in the Mara.
