Botswana is one of Southern Africa's least visited and yet most fascinating destinations. It has a wide variety of habitats, from desert to wetlands, and some of the finest game-viewing in Africa. For many years it has concentrated on high quality tourism, limiting the number of visitors annually to ensure that its reserves and parks are not damaged or saturated by mass tourism.

A result of this can be seen in the options available in Botswana - they have some of the most luxurious and exclusive lodges and camps in the world. This trip takes you to 3 of these, each beautifully located and offering the best facilities, and yet each in completely different landscapes removed offering very different types of game-viewing. From the large elephant herds of the plains, to the wetland of the world-famous Okavango Delta you will get to experience some of the world’s best game-viewing while staying at some of the world’s best camps. The luxury tents you stay in have the facilities of the best hotels and yet offer you the true safari experience under the African stars. Transfers between camps are by light aircraft, saving days of bumpy road transfers. And did we mention that the food is superb?

If you like the best things in life then this itinerary is for you. It can also be extended to finish at the world-famous Victoria Falls which is relatively close by.

This is a private tour (minimum 2). It can depart on any day you wish (subject to availability). Please note that game-drives will be done in the lodges/camps own vehicles/boats and will be shared with other guests.

Please let us know you preferred dates and we will forward a full tailored itinerary with confirmed quotation to you by e-mail and/or post.

Day 1
Depart the UK.

Days 2-3
On arrival at Maun Airport you will be met and transferred by light aircraft to Moremi Wildlife Reserve and on to Okuti Camp.
This spectacular and beautiful game park is situated in a corner of the Okavango Delta and covers more than 1 000 square kilometres of grassy floodplains, winding waterways, palm-fringed islands, dense forest and lush, lily-covered lagoons. With its mix of wetlands and woodlands, it is a wonderful game viewing location. This is where hippos and crocodiles bathe and laze in crystal-clear waters, while the wide variety of vegetation is also home to a magnificent collection of wildlife. Huge herds of impala and tsessebe roam the savannah, and waterbuck are common here. Lion, cheetah and leopard hunt in the open veldt, and the area is particularly good for wild dogs. The immense number of birds will delight everyone.

Days 4-5
After breakfast, you transfer to the airstrip for the flight to your next camp, situated deep in the Okavango Delta – a 6,000 square-mile maze of lagoons, channels, and islands. Stay at Kanana Camp for two nights. During your stay, game activities are offered on foot or by water in a mokoro. These eco-friendly dugout canoes built to the traditional design give you the chance to experience the true Okavango Delta. You will be able to reach areas which cannot be accessed by road and the mokoro excursions enable you to be at one with the environment, in and amongst the wildlife on the myriad of crystal clear waterways. .

The Okavango Delta is truly unique. It is the largest inland delta in the world, and instead of flowing into the sea, the annual flood of fresh water flows inland. The countless islands that emerge from its waterways give rise to several diverse ecosystems which in turn, are home to vast numbers of game and a myriad of birds. The crystal clear waters support many kinds of fish and it is a birder’s paradise. The heart of the delta is accessed by air only and as it is an exclusive destination, it remains relatively unpopulated and untamed.

Days 6-7
After breakfast, you transfer to the airstrip for the flight to your next camp - Shinde Camp. You remain in the Okavango Delta and get the chance to explore another part of this natural paradise for two more days. Excellent game-viewing and bird watching by vehicle, canoe or on foot.

Day 8
You are transferred to Maun Airport for your onward flight back to the UK or onto Victoria Falls or Mauritius. Contact us for more extension details.

Day 9
Arrive UK.
