In September one of our fantastic safari guides managed to take a lot of great
photos whilst accompanying some clients around the
Masai Mara in Kenya. He really captured the feel of what an average game drive looks like in this part of the world at this time of year bursting with great wildlife encounters!
The photos range from fabulous birds to sleepy lions. There are some great shots of zebra crossing the road just in front of the safari vehicle as well as some wildebeest grazing in the distance. You can check them all out on our
Real Africa flickr photo page
My favourite photos are the cheeky lion cubs that appear to be pestering their very sleepy father who is trying to continue his snooze in the sun. (You can spot his face and magnificent mane in the grass lying upside down and with his eyes firmly shut!)
September is one of the best times of year to go on safari in
Kenya and
Tanzania as it is at the peak of the annual migration. The herds of zebra, gazelle and wildebeest on the move in their thousands make a truly spectacular sight. Watching the attendant predators, lions, crocodiles and leopards in particular, stalking their prey is one of those once-in-a-lifetime moments. Remembering to get your camera out and take a photo is quite hard when you are sucked in to the intensity of the moment! Lucky for us our guides are always on hand to capture the moment with their cameras. Those of us in head office in the UK love to see their latest shots its like a little blast of African sunshine on a cold, grey day. We hope you enjoy them too.
