North Kenyan Photo exhibition in London
A Photographic exhibition will open in late September featuring the work of John Kenny, a specialist portrait photographer, who works extensively in Africa. Some of these photos have been featured in the magazine "Wanderlust".
The exhibition, entitled "Facing Uncertainty: Portraits from Africa" features images taken on a recent trip to Northern Kenya. These stunning images show traditional tribesmen and women from some of Kenya's most remote and hostile areas, still with strong cultural heritages.
The venue is 3 Bedfordbury Gallery, Covent Garden, London, WC2N 4BP. The exhibition runs from Wednesday 21st Sept until Sunday 2nd October, 12-6p.m. (closed Mondays).
There will be a Private Viewing Evening on Tuesday 20th September, tickets £50, to raise money for three charities who work in the areas that the images were taken. The BOMA project helps the pastoral nomads of Northern Kenya by using micro finance and training in new skills. Concern Worldwide runs programmes developing education and health in Kenya and CIFA Kenya concentrates on livestock husbandry, water supply and food production.
