Seeing gorillas in the wild is one of the most exciting and moving experiences to be done on any safari holiday. Bwindi Inpenetrable Forest in the far south-west of Uganda is home to half of the world population, although this is still a figure counted in hundreds rather than thousands.
Careful conservation, detailed research and constant protection has helped stabilize the once dwindling population and is making the gorilla an example of what can be done to assist and save a species heading for extinction. Its a battle far from won, but progress is being made.
Our Bwindi gorilla video was filmed by our staff and shows a typical gorilla trekking day. It took them over 3 hours of hard walking to track the gorillas and were allowed one hour with them. At the end of the day they were tired but elated.
