South Africa pushes the Big 7 in 2010

The South African Enviromental Affairs Minister Buyelwa Sonjica has announced that South Africa will be pushing its unique wildlife opportunities by offering safaris to see the "Big 7".

As well as the traditional safari "Big 5" animals of lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo, they have included shark and whales, both of which can be seen in the Southern Ocean.

The Big 7 can be seen by either combining the Kruger or one of the other northern National Parks with the Cape Provinces or KwaZulu Natal, where the marine animals can be seen. Its also possible by visiting one of the private reserves in the Cape.
