New National Park In Namibia
The Sperrgebiet area, in the Karoo in Namibia, became a National Park in early February, after extensive planning by various Government agencies.
Recreational areas, hiking trails and tourist routes have all been established, as well as extensive cleaning and restoration of the historical momuments within its area. The area has been restricted to visitors ever since diamonds were discovered in Kolmanskop in 1907, but now freer access is expected to boost visitors to the area.
